Overview
The Thiruppuliangudi Nava Thirupathi Temple is located at Thirupulingudi and is dedicated to God Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divya Desam temples.
About the Temple
This temple is also called as Sri Kaaichina Vendha Perumal Temple besides the name of Thiruppuliangudi Nava Thirupathi Temple. Devotees worship in this temple so that to get relief from the negativity and bad effects of the nine planets in their life. This temple has been admired by the 12 Azhwars just like the other Nava Tirupathi Temples and the Divya Desams.
About the Deity
The chief or presiding deity of this temple is God Bhoomipalaka Perumal who is also known as God Kasinivendan Perumal. There is a very attractive image of God Vishnu who is in the recling posture. He is along with Goddess Malarmagal Nachiar. On the either side of God Vishnu, there are the idols of Goddess Sridevi and Goddess Bhoodevi.
Legend and Stories
The peculiar feature of this temple is that the holy feet of Lord Kasinivendan Perumal can be seen from the window of the passageway.
The legend says that Lord Vishnu and His consort Goddess Sridevi came to the place Thamirabarani to spend some time in peace. Goddess Bhoodevi(Goddess Earth), the other consort of Lord Vishnu got angry by this and hid herself in the Nether World and caused earth to fill with darkness.
By the prayers made by the Devas to save the earth, Lord Vishnu went to Nether World and consoled Goddess Bhoodevi and protected the earth from darkness. Hence the Lord here is known as Lord Bhoomi Paalar ('Bhoomi' means 'Earth' in Tamil Language).

The major festival celebrated in this temple is Vaikasi Utsava which is also called as 9 Garuda Sevai Utsavam.
